Do band students have homework?

  • Yes.  Our normal homework is as follows:  Woodwind and brass students should be practicing the fundamentals of good tone and steady, fast air just on their mouthpieces as a warm up.  Following that, every student should review previous exercises, practice the page we are working on in class and one page ahead.  Students should try to practice at least 3 times a week for 20 minutes each time.
